District Event: Cub Scout Digital Scavenger Hunt 2025

1st Dapto Cubs are invited to join the other groups in the district for a scavenger hunt!

We are seeking EOI for parent helpers that might wish to attend and walk with the group, as well as discussions of carpooling. 
Registration as an Adult Helper via Scouts is mandatory, as is WWCC, police check, and completion of the three mandatory online learning modules (yes it sounds like a lot, but there's not much to it, and youth safety has to be at the forfront of Scouting!)

NIL ($3 for optional badge - see details - pay leader in cash)

 

 

 

 

This District Event will be a heap of fun - a scavenger hunt around Wollongong.

Cub Scouts must wear full uniform including scarf and good shoes or joggers (no thongs or open shoes)

Things to bring along:

  • A small backpack
  • sunscreen
  • hat
  • jumper or jacket (in case it gets cold)
  • rain coat (you never know)
  • a clipboard
  • 2 pencils and a rubber
  • small personal first aid kit
  • full water bottle
  • morning tea (fruit and snacks)
  • (optional) digital camera if you have one (responsibility for it's care remains with your child)

The Cubs will be split into small groups with an adult. There needs to be one camera (or mobile phone) with each group. If no-one in the group has a camera then the adult should have a mobile phone that you can use.

Depending on numbers, we may need a couple of parent helpers to stay and walk the scavenger hunt. Please let me know if you would be available. This will be determined after the closing date when we have final numbers of Cub and Leaders.

We will be meeting inside McCabe Park (near the playground) to get instructions.

Please note: There are limited toilets on the walk, be sure to go before leaving home.

 

----OPTIONAL BADGE----

We have had a new District Activity badge made to be able to award to the Cubs who attend District Events. This badge is for collecting and scout blanket (not a uniform bandge).

The cost of the badge is $3 each (optional). Please hand cash to your leader in and envelope with FAMILY NAME on the envelope.
